Dak Prescott, starting quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, is set to be the guest of honor for a charity dinner and silent auction on June 19th, 2017. All proceeds from the event will directly benefit Annunciation Catholic School, located in Columbus, MS.
“Annunciation Catholic School, originally named St. Mary’s school, opened its doors in 1963 enrolling 189 Catholic and non-Catholic students. Today, we serve just over 200 students in pre-k through eighth grade. Just about one-fourth of those students are from Starkville, MS. We also enroll students from all over Northeast MS and West Alabama.
Catholic schools are founded on the belief that all children, regardless of race or creed, are entitled to a quality Christian education. Annunciation has proudly embraced this mission and continues to be culturally, economically, and spiritually diverse. At Annunciation Catholic School, we welcome all faith traditions.
While academic achievement is important, we believe that strong moral character is equally important. We have a school-wide expectation for kindness and respect for all of our relationships, both at school and outside in the community. Our students learn from an early age that they can help make a difference in the world. We have community service projects for all grades and a buddy program to help reinforce the value and importance of giving one’s time, talents, and gifts. In addition to classroom service projects, all students participate in various charitable events throughout the year.”
